Face Ripper is a unique item in Divinity Orginal Sin 2.

This grisly device is used for removing intact faces from suitable corpses. For what, you may well ask? Those who practice such arcane arts use them for crafting shapeshifting masks.

Face Ripper Location

  • Can be found on Kniles the Flenser beneath fort Joy.
  • Can be found in the house over the bridge that's drawn up after you leave the boat at reapers coast.
  • Can be found in Reaper's Coast in the tavern in Driftwood, in Kniles the Flenser's childhood room on the second floor.
  • Can be found in the basement of Ryker's mansion in the graveyard in reapers coast.

Face Ripper Information

  • Used to make Fane's Mask of the Shapeshifter.
  • Use the skill it grants you on a corpse that is an Elf/Dwarf/Human/Lizard. It will give you the race's face (As an item, to be combined in crafting).
  • NPC who's checking your character's inventory for stealing will notice the Face Ripper when your character is innocent.

And I thought I was being clever by using it on the starting's corpse that Fane was looking upon to give him the face he wanted to wear... it doesn't have an interaction, he just keeps staring at the corpse's pile of gore. :(

Dang I really wish the face ripper kept the character model of the person you zapped I yoinked the female silent monks face so I could choose whether red prince was a make or female lizard but it was all in vain

It would be nice if you could wear the shapeshifter mask AND hat but since you can’t it makes its usefulness limited

          • Totally worthless, the faces you ripoff doesnt matter, the shapeshift always makes you default ugly nps face. I wanted to collect faces of important characters and all that i get those same abominations.

(since there doesn't seem to be a page specifically for the racial masks, i guess this will have to do)
Is there a way to change the appearance of the disguised form? from what i've discovered so far is that it does Not matter who's face you steal, you still always look like the standar, basic, default face, like the human male disguise, gives you short fluffy-ish hair, big bushy beard with up pointing mustache and for human females they just get the long half-hairstyle.
and imo, they both suck, and you cannot alter them with the mirror, it just *****s up Your character, not the disguise.

What's the point a face-ripper if you get the Mask from Windego? Unless you have more than one Undead in your party. Does the mask make you interract with people like a specific NPC whose face you ripped or just a random elf/human/dwarf/lizard fellow?
