Sebille Walkthrough

First you must speak with the Dreamer: Stingtail at Fort Joy. He is on the beach area south of Fort Joy. He will only appear after you begin the quest: The Imprisoned Elf and have spoken with Griff in Fort Joy. Sebille will ask to speak to him when you do, and if you say yes she will kill him. He is a Pyrokinetic Skills Book vendor, so be sure you have purchased whichever Skill Books you want from him before this occurs. If she doesn't kill him you cannot advance her quest line. Also, if you tell Griff Stingtail was the thief during the quest: The Imprisoned Elf, then you will not be able to advance this quest. So be sure to either let Sebille kill him first, or don't tell Griff the thief's identity.

Next have her speak with Griff in Fort Joy and she will learn that she needs to speak with Zaleskar in the Hollow Marshes. This means you will need to escape Fort Joy before continuing on her quest.

At Driftwood Tavern, A man named Baran will inform you that Roost is hiding in a nearby sawmill. (you need to have Ifan ben-Mezd in your team)

Roost is hiding in the sawmill, to reach there, you need to get past a lot of lone wolves. (if you have Ifan ben-Mezd on your team, you can let him do the talking) From Roost you will learn the location of your former master, then you need to fight Roost.

If you save Saheila from Roost in The Elven Seer, she will reveal the true identity of Sebille, and give Sebille a choice to be the heart of scions.

Sebille's master is at the Nameless Isle. When you first reach there, she will have a ! over her head, talk to her to teach you a song that breaks her master's control. YOU MUST SPEAK TO HER IMMEDIATELY OR YOU WILL BE UNABLE TO LEARN THE SONG*.  If you miss it you will have to fight the Shadow Prince without her present, or he will retake control of her.
If the !-sign did not appear: You might not have advanced the conversation with your main character and Sebille to the point where she trusts you enough to share the song with you. You might still be able to learn the song. You will now with certainty if this is still possible when you try to approach the Schadow Prince for the first time. If the song is still within your grasp, Sebille will utter a sentence: "I need to find someone that I trust enough to share the scar song with". Talk to her and she will teach the song to you.

*Not necessarily true anymore. You can wait just outside the Shadow Prince camp and do dialogue with Sebille with another party member, wait a couple minute, and the ! dialogue window will pop up, leading to the song being taught

Travel to the Temple of Zorl-Stissa, find the Shadow Prince at Lava Field. Sing the song when Shadow Prince wants to control Sebille.

When Shadow Prince turns hostile, a group of shadow assassins will also appear, defeat them to set Sebille free.

After you killed the Shadow Prince, the mother tree wants to speak to Sebille. Go to the heart of the mother tree (using the flower to teleport), it will ask Sebille to grow to be the next mother tree. If you don't agree with this, the elves will turn hostile and attack you, but Sebille will live.

When you leave the mother tree heart room, Sheila will approach you (if she's still alive), she asked you to kill the mother tree, so all the elves will live freely. Get back to the heart to kill the mother tree, the quest is complete but the remaining elves at the temple will turn hostile.

When you reached the Academy, you need to convince Sebille you are the right one to be the divine. (If you finished her personal quest there is no need of persuasion)

Tips & Tricks

  • Zaleskar requires a persuasion check to be convinced to talk or will turn hostile. Be aware that when you first meet him Zaleskar will probably be several levels higher than your party, so either wait till you level up or get ready beforehand. If you get to kill Zaleskar he will drop a Withered Heart that may be eaten by Sebille to advance her quest..
  • If Sebille agrees to become the mother tree when she dies, she will gain "Rooted" (+3 memory), and will keep the talent even if you go back and kill the Mother Tree after talking to Saheila.

    • I'm playing as a lone wolf party Sebille and Beast. As Sebille, when speaking with the Shadow Prince and as he attempts to control her with singing, there was a line available to her, something like 'Nod slowly and grin, you know exactly what to do". She then pierced his neck with her needle and sliced his vocal cords making him Silent for the ensuing fight. Point is, playing as Sebille, I didn't need my other party member to know the song, the dialogue was such that I freed myself.

Eating Griff hand just gave me flavour text, eating Zaleskars heart just gave me flavour text, no updates to her questline apart from the 'find out more about the lone wolves' stage :(

If you are having problems learning the song from her:
          1) Boost your persuasion (i had it to 5) at the mirror.
          2) Exhaust all her chat options.
          3) She immediately came on to me and taught me the song on the lady vengeance.
          4) Reset your stats to what they were.

i looked this up pretty late. I accidentally ran straight into conflict and didnt have the song. Had to kill Sebille and reloaded. Chatted with her, and was able to talk her into still giving me the song, right next to him, before engaging.

            • Anonymous

I hadn't finished Sebille's personal quest but didn't need to pass a persuasion check for her to give up her right to be divine because I romanced her

It must have been changed because I told griff that stingtail stole the goods and I was still able to advance the quest. I just manually attacked the ncp sent to kill stingtail. Once the fight was over I talked to stingtail and Sebille asked to speak with him and killed him, the quest advanced to speak to griff now I am on the finding Zaleskar part.

In one of my play through, some how I get Sebeil attitude to 100% right after act 2, I don't know how. But on another play through, I can't get that high and run out of option till I get back to the boat and finally learn her song.

If you didn't advance your conversations enough with Sebille to get her to teach you her scar song on the beach, you can catch up by using up all conversation options wherever you are then returning to the beach via the ship and talking to her again. The option will be there and you'll be good to go.

To compile all the info about Sebille, her song and divinity in one post:

To prevent the Shadow Prince from putting Sebille under his control during their confrontation in the Nameless Isle, you must learn her scar song, (if you're playing as Sebille, she'll break out of the spell on her own). You need high attitude with her and have advanced her dialogue to after she told you about her running away from the elves, being captured by the Shadow Prince and her first kill. You get a few opportunities to learn her scar song:

                      1) As soon as you reach the Nameless Isle. This is the earliest point at which you can learn the scar song and often the easiest to miss.
                      2) After talking to the Mother Tree and being asked to kill the Shadow Prince. This is the most reliable way to learn the song if you missed the opportunity aboard the ship.
                      3) Just before reaching the Shadow Prince's camp.

I've tested this a bit and, as other commenters said, if you can learn her song, she'll comment how she needs to find someone to share the song with. I couldn't trigger this comment aboard the Lady Vengeance, but I could after accepting the Mother Tree's quest and just before reaching the Shadow Prince's camp. In my experience, leveling your Persuasion skill is a must if you intend to have Sebille in your party and finish her quest as there are, I believe, some hidden persuasion checks throughout her dialogues, such as when re-recruiting her at the start of Act II. In any case, once you've killed the Shadow Prince, regardless of the outcome of the Prime Scion, you should be able to talk her out of pursuing divinity without persuasion checks.

Finally, if you have the Sebille and the Red Prince in your party, you can complete both quests just fine. Have Sebille stay away from the Shadow Prince as the Red Prince talks to him, you can end their conversation without engaging in a fight after which you can engage him with Sebille and finish that quest. If you brought Sebille along and she hijacked the conversation and triggered the fight, you can talk to his spirit with the Red Prince and complete the quest that way as well.

well, it is not just the elves that attack you, all the assorted "last of their kind/only one of their kind around" creatures attack you, including all of the traders — basically, everyone who is not a magister or garath or a spirit etc attacks you.... (tho sahelia leaves to who knows where (how did she even get to the nameless isle? it is supposed to be hidden and she most probably has a severe lack of funds and i dont remember her being on the ship......))

You can learn the song from Sebille after speaking with the Mother Tree and accepting the quest to kill the Shadow Prince, you must have high attitude for it to work.

I missed the opportunity to learn the song from Sebille by an hour (got the dialogue trigger when approaching, backed out and did other stuff), but was able to get another chance to learn it by approaching the rocky bridge near the Shadow Prince, initiating the other unrelated dialogue options with Sebille (asking whats next, etc), and then ending the conversation. Afterwards the "!" popped up over her again (no dialogue trigger though) and I was able to learn it.

Sebile won't support me ascending before going into academy, wth, I've reloaded game to the start of nameless isle numerous times. I still don't get the an exclamation. Do i need to restart the game?

On my playthough i didnt learn the song and had to kill sebille. After re loading my save with the master I talked to sebille once, exited dialogue and the "!" Popped up over her head and gave me the the song.

I'm having a party with Ifan and Sebille, considering what I've read from other's comments/inputs; I teleported Sebille at the Driftwood-Square so that Ifan can talk to Roost without Sebille intefering. Interestingly, it doesn't matter whether if Sebille will confront with Roost or not because after killing Roost, Sebille's personal quest stated: Roost Alon, who delivered Sebille to the Master, is dead. The Master is next and her log doesn't closes and as for Ifan: You just know that Alexander is still alive and Roost didn't reveal the identify of the one who issued the Godwoken contract. In short you can proceed with the story even if Sebille is the one who confronts with Roost. Cheers.

Those who missed her line about the song upon reaching the Nameless Isle please check -The Mother Tree- quest info, as ou can still learn about the song there... Link>

I told her to wait before talking to Zaleskar (I thought she was going to murder him obviously) and she refused to speak with him after Ifan. I killed Zaleskar for his heart and fed it to her but this did nothing for her quest. She still talks about finding Zaleskar despite her quest log indicating he is dead.

I'm playing as Sebille as my main and I don't get an exclamation point on arriving at the Nameless Isle. How does this quest work for those of us playing as Sebille?

                                        • Anonymous

I held Sebille back again, then got box from Shadow thru Red, then talked to him right after with Ifan who said incorrectly that the Deathfog has been released and tree is dead as are all elves. Then I brought Sebille in, did the dialogue and began fighting. Easily beat Shadow by teleporting him onto ledge across cavern, where he was stuck with no movement skills and the two summons I put on him while I took care of the hidden gang one by one. Went BACK to tree with his heart, and there's Delorus on a path crying about how horrible it is like there was Dfog released, but I went up and it was fine. Weird, but whatever.

I'm playing as Lohse and I never got an option to counter-sing. I have no idea why, but I have to start the fight without Sebille in the party.

                                            • Anonymous

Just a heads up: I am playing as Sebille, and I have the Red Prince in my party. If you want to progress the Red Prince's portion of the quest at this point, separate him from your party and have him talk to the Master *first*. You can then walk him away and do Sebille's portion. Sebille will want to do him in and will not defer the conversation to the Red Prince at any point. Also the whole counter-song issue is moot if you play as Sebille - she will fight against the song herself during the dialog.

But how do you get her to trust you? I want to romance her in the Definitive Edition, but the dialogue where she teaches me her song and eventually kiss never happens. Will this affect the romance? She also occasionally calls me “darling.”

Just wanted to add that if you run into the issue of Sebille not trusting you enough to learn you the song, you can actually just aggro the whole fight with any other member of your party, have Sebille join in on the action and once the Shadow Prince dies the achievement for singing the song unlocks without ever having learnt it.

Half way between "Driftwood - Fields" teleporter and "Paradise Downs" teleporter there is an "Elven Camp" on the map. Talk to the elves about a rescue that needs to happen at the "Abandoned Livewood Sawmill to the north. Go to the Sawmill (it's to the right of Bloodmoon Island on the map) and clear the camp. In the top right building on the map there is a staircase that goes to the upper floor of the building. There you find Saheila and Roost. Once you've killed Roost and his goons you can free Saheila who will then follow you until you're outside the sawmill. She will then go to the Elven camp. Go to the elven camp with Sebille and speak with Saheila to advance her personal quest. - sosei

Okay so for some reason, at about level 15, in my playthrough, Sebille cannot enter driftwood any more. Everytime i try, i immediately get attacked by the whole city. What the hell?

                                                      • Anonymous

For some reason I can't make Sebille (as a companion) converse with Roost. I learned of his whereabouts, but when I enter the floor where Roost is located, with the whole party or Sebille alone, I enter combat immediately, no talking whatsoever. It doesn't appear to break her quest-line though, after killing Roost I could talk to Sebille about the (non-existent) conversation between the two.

It may be because I accepted the quest to rescue that blind elf, whom Roost interrogates there, perhaps accepting it turns Roost hostile. Other than that, I haven't a clue what could've caused this.

"If she doesn't kill [Stingtail] you cannot advance her quest line. " - WRONG. She can interrogate him with a little violence, but spare his life and later not hand him out to Griff. Her quest will still progress.

i ran into Sahelia in Arx and she basically told Sebille (after killing the mother tree) that now it was time for war and that with the blood of the human, dwarfs and lizards the elves were gonna make a new life and***** and Sebille says "she is insane" so now i dont know if listening to her and killing the mother tree was a good idea

Well and what if I don't have Ifan at all, I don't like him so he was ignored by me for the longest time. Now that I am about to leave for Nameless Island I decided to finish up companion quests and I can't progress Sebille's one. If you can't do it without Ifan I will be very dissapointed in this game

Baran doesn't tell me about roost. killing baran reveals no inforamtion of falue. Do i just have to got to the sawmill and butcher everybody??

It bugged him out and didn't allow me to sing the song to make Sebille free from the mind control. It also made Shadow Prince think the Red Prince was some random NPC.
