Single-Handed Notes

  • Warfare is usually a better investment in terms of raw damage increase as the damage calculation for it is a multiplicative percent, whilst Single-Handed's is additive.

I like making simple, righteous paladins who still can pack a punch despite wielding a shield, this skill enables that. Makes you heavily reliant on equipment but hey, that's what persuasion and bartering is for! And if you pick a shield you aren't exactly here for the highest damage so don't expect that but you can drop your enemies cooldowns and live to tell the tale. That's my sword-board experience

Is this even worth it? Shields are pretty strong defensively, but single-wielding 1H makes it so you're not even trying to do weapon damage. Those are points you could spend on skills that directly scale off of STR, Armor, INT, and skill school levels. And IIRC, skills that scale off of weapon damage use the total damage from both hands, so you never get a chance to compare to dual or 2H. I haven't tried to make this work yet, but I'm extremely skeptical.
