  7. Activate the Sanctuary's healing pool by interracting with the statue (blood pool will kill the pig, blessed pool will cure her)
  8. Tell Feder to step into the pool

The Burning Pigs Walkthrough

When you are exploring the Hollow Marshes, you will find some burning pigs, cursed by Braccus Rex. You can use Bless to lift the curse, and a guardian named Scapor will appear (you only need to Bless one pig). You need to fight her, or talk your way out of it.

Once finished head east, through the ambush and up the hill to find the pig Feder. If you have Pet Pal talent, talk to her, and ask her about the curse. Then inform her that of the Sanctuary of Amadia and tell her to go there (you must have been there first, so if you haven't go there first).

The pool needs to be activated (talk to the statue, connect with its emotions, the pool will start glowing and heal those standing in it like Blessed surfaces). When it is, talk to Feder in the Sanctuary and suggest she moves into the pool. When she does, she will transform into a human. She then stays in Sanctuary (second floor, on wooden construction right of the healer's tents) and sells plethora of weapons, armor, accessories and some scrolls.

Note that if you anger the statue instead, the pool will be shrouded in a blood mist, and Feder will die when stepping into the pool.

Tips & Tricks

  • Bless the pigs to remove the necrofire.
  • Be careful while curing pigs, as there are 2 fights in that area that you can accidentally run into.
  • Pigs have multiple oil/poison barrels and surfaces around them that they can accidentally trigger.
  • Pigs will run away if approached.
  • While the quest only requires you to bless one pig, you will still gain experience for blessing each one.
  • There are several Source ponds around the area that replenish a point on contact, so you don't need to use Purging item charges.
  • Scapor, an undead lizard, appears from the ground when first the pig is cured. Some party members have unique interactions with her, but ultimately any dialogue leads to fighting except if you ask about the curse that will befall her if she lets you pass, and then use a Wits dialogue persuasion after that. She will die and can be looted for some decent gear and you will get additional XP.
  • After Feder becomes a woman she trades great armors and weapons (She moves to X:450 Y:40)

there is an endless source fountain in the braccus vault inside the abandoned fort area (Metal Door waypoint on the map)

      • Anonymous

No Source puddle at all in the area. I rushed to learn Bless at Braccus Vault, but i just can't find any source puddle. I looked for maps online. Were they removed? With Bless costing source points this quest is such a big hassle. I guess i'll just have to try using the purging wand... however it may work...

As XP is the most important thing in the world, you are able to kill the pigs without any consequence once you've blessed them.

          • Anonymous

I tried casting arcane stitch on one of the pigs, which specifically says it will heal necrofire, yet it did nothing. Sure, apparently we're supposed to use Bless, a skill which, literally does not say it will heal it. Considering how annoying to get source points are, that would be *slightly* infuriating to figure out without a walkthrough.

I've used Bless, Cure, Rain/Rain of Blood and none of that is worked-_- I hate play games with walkthroughs, but I almost knew that there is some kind of sh*t there(I've already experienced main quest brake when I cleared locations and minor quest not in the straight order[killed spiders having -2 lvl comparing with them while in dust storm{f**k such battles!}]). And I also have my party love wolfs quest seems broken too, 'couse I've killed "godwoken" before met him... just great. Am I gonna have a single play of divinity without meeting bugs?\

              • "Scapor, an undead lizard, appears from the ground when first pig was cured." , in my walkthrough, it didnt happen, one of my companion ( without petpal, talk to the pig), and i use other companion to bless the pig . at the end , the pig run away and Scapor didnt spawn.

For those of you who have not put points into Wit for your teammates. You can unchain those individuals to speak with the lizard with the person with the most wits.

                  • Anonymous

Just tested and its actually possible (though tedious) to aggro the pig after blessing it and lead it to the pool rather than having pet pal. You must however leave combat with it while it is in the pool.

Watch out for Magister Ames, the traps he has set on the way up the hill to the right (before entering the camp) will kill feder.

Funny thing with this quest I killed one pig and in quest report was I bless one pig lol I dont even have spell Bless yet :)
                        WTF ?????

Alright so kinda spoilers? If you've already gone through most of the quests and the Burning Pigs is your last one to do on the island, and you've already bonded with Amadia, switch characters (if you aren't solo) and it works the same as the first time you activated it. Be mindful if you pick Lohse to speak with the statue if you pick the Lohse special chat box and pick the I want to live part Amadia will turn the pool into blood and it will kill Feder. Fair warning.

If you stuck in conversation with no option that allow you to give info about place just use someone else to talk with pig. Pet Pal is requied. If you have done conversations as everyone and you are blocked on all characters then your last hope is Fane's Mask of the Shapeshifter ( changing race ).

I believe any character can turn the pool into healing or blood, it depends on what emotions you speak of after interacting with it. But yeah blood pool just kills feder, rip.

I told Feder about the pool after sending the seekers off from their camp, and decided to grab the waypoint real quick before heading over to Amadia's. Feder decided to walk up the path next to the new camp with the explosive mines everywhere and died a horrible death. Guess that'll teach them to have such a poor sense of direction.

DO NOT ACTIVATE THE STATUE USING LOHSE! *****, the pool turned into blood and it killed Feder when she got into the pool.

                                  • Anonymous

You need to active the godess statue as a non undead (try to use another companion to activate the statute), Otherwise instead of the healing pool Amalia will just bless you character alone

                                      I was able to complete the quest. What I did was;
                                      1. bless talk to the pigs
                                      2. accepted the quest
                                      3. I blessed every single pigs
                                      4. I went to point 3 on the map provided (Feder the pig)
                                      5. She thanks me and I inform her that maybe going to Amadia Statue will return her body to normal.
                                      6. I suggest to go in the pool where the blessed water is (note: I already knew where Amadia was first before doing this)
                                      7. Quest complete.

u can use purge on scapor body after u killed him in the fight, and after that, u will meet Krylr the Kettlegrinder

                                        • Anonymous

If you want to heal the pig you have to get the water blessed. You can do that by talking with the statue as Fane (at least that's what worked for me).
