The Red Prince is an Origin or a Companion in Divinity Original Sin 2. The Red Prince's default class is Fighter.

Origin Story

"Famed, of course, for my unique red skin and unparalleled skills as a general of the House of War, I, the Red Prince, was raised within the vast palaces of the fabled Forbidden City. I was destined to become the next emperor, but my ambitions suffered a bit of a setback when I fell from grace for cavorting with demons. Now I'm exiled and hunted by assassins, but I assure you: I remain undaunted - and as determined as ever to claim my rightful throne!"

The Red Prince Information

  • "Unique among your own kind, you are a prince exiled from your Empire. This land is hostile, its inhabitants inferior, but no one will stop your march to vindication."

Location

  • If you did not select The Red Prince as an Origin, he is the first potential Companion you encounter. He is resting at the seaside on the south of the starting place, not far from shipwreck. Note: as a Lizard, he can help you with digging up things.
  • Can also be recruited on the Lady Vengeance, after fighting Alexandar. Prince is on the main deck of the ship, standing near the ship's control wheel.
  • If The Red Prince is not in your party while fighting Dallis on the Lady Vengeance, he will die and can no longer be recruited.

Red Prince Quests

First you must speak with the Dreamer: Stingtail at Fort Joy. He is on the beach area south of Fort Joy. He will only appear after you begin the quest:  and have spoken with Griff in Fort Joy. Be careful when approaching him because if you have Sebille with you she will try to kill him (best to leave her a good distance away).

Next you must speak with Bahara in Amadia's Sanctuary. She is the Lizard guarding the entrance. To get there you must head southeast of the Hollow Marshes Bridge Shrine a good ways. When you've defeated the Void Salamanders you are close. If you hit the Hollow Marshes Dragon's Breach Shrine you've gone too far east.

After reaching Driftwood in Reaper's Coast, speak with Ghangha underneath the Driftwood tavern to learn Brahmos the Wanderer has fled to a nearby Paladin camp and is being followed. At Stonegarden of Reaper's Coast, cast Spirit Vision near the lizard's part of the cemetery. (where two dragon-head statues breathe fire) Let Red-Prince speak to the dreamer's ghost.

On the east of the abandoned sawmill, there's Red Princess's camp. Let Red Princes mate with her will advance his personal quest. Some lizards will ambush you afterwards, but after you defeat them the Red Princess is disappeared.

When you travel to Nameless isle, you will find a blackest mirror in Sallow Man's Camp that shows the image of Red Princess. (to enter the camp, you need to side with the Black Rings, or use the Cowl given by Alexandar to reveal the passage inside troll cave. See The Nameless Isle for details.)

When you arrived the Arx, speak to Red Prince and he suggests you search the consulate.

Note, before you approach the consulate, make sure you have a swornbreaker on you. (either forged with the two pieces you found on Nameless Isle. Or one you acquired from The Vault of Linder Kemm)

(Warning: the consulate quest may be bugged, the Cursed Revenant respawn endlessly, suggest you save your game before you approach this area. Theoretically, they only respawn in nearest necro fire. But sometimes necro fire stuck inside walls and you can not cleanse them, causing that bug.)

Use your character with highest sneak and thievery ability to infiltrate the consulate, till you reached the fountain. (if you find yourself in a battle, use retreat to start over.)

  1. You need a key for the doors blocking off the fountain room. The body of the dead consulate guard (far side of the room to your right when facing the fountain doors) has the door key. No mobs spawn in this room and it can be safely traveled.
  2. This door can be lockpicked, and prior author suggested Thievery 5 did the trick.

When you approached the fountain, use the teleporter pyramid to regroup your team. Then cast Spirit Vision to see the portal above.

You will be teleported to a strange arena. There you will have to fight shades of Malady, Bishop, Windego, and Malady can make a copy of Red Prince appear from one of the black mirrors, but only one copy at a time. The Red Prince shade is not an identical copy, for me it was a dagger wielding hybrid of rogue and fighter, with the real Red Prince being a geomancing shield-wielding fighter. However, they will not appear immediately, only after you move from the center.

They will spawn even after their death, to beat the encounter you will have to break all the mirrors in the arena and then a magical door will appear. Now here is a little trick which will make a very difficult fight, a trivial one. If you have range character (crossbow, or bows) you will be able to destroy all mirrors without leaving a centre of the arena (before fight begins). You need to manipulate some angles and destroy some things but it's 100% possible.

(Note: alternatively, you can use long-range skills like fossil strike or earthquake to destroy mirrors )

After that just move toward the door and when the fight begins just move one character to the door and the whole party will be ported out.

Talk to the dreamers will open the portal to princess's hideout. If you have a swornbreaker, you can free the princess from her bond to the God King. Then let Red Prince use fire breath to give birth to a dragon.

Leave the dream to complete the quest.

Sadha can be found in Driftwood at X:575 Y:450.

Was the literal last place I looked as I was noticed a small black splotch on my map before moving on.

With the skill Flaming Crescendo, it is possible to get the achievement for killing Sadha with the Red prince. Just start a conversation with her, but don't exit it and stack the debuffs on her, it took around 12 for me to one shot her.

red prince is high noble. scholar personality doesn't suit with with him. he actually very good character better than ifan. ngl ifan story is simple. with red prince you know more than kid ifan story / lohse.

the only thing that pissed me off about the red prince storyline is that there are 2 steam achievements tied to it and the triggers are set such that you have to do 2 full playthroughs with red prince to get both achievements. because one achievement "kill sadha" doesn't trigger by just "killing sadha", it requires you to go through a whole complicated set of steps involving not sleeping with her the first time you meet her in act 2 and then choosing specific dialogue options when you find her again in act 4

If you have 2 magic units like me, equip tornado to each of them. When the battle starts, focus on clearing those cursed surface before taking them down and they won't respawn. Also, to clear the patch of necrofire in wall, jump into the sceond room where the necrofire is and cast the tornado facing the direction of the door from the inside. The revenant won't respawn anymore this way.

Spoilers for the ending scene I tried all the solutions about the divinity and The Red Prince never used dragons in any ending for war, so everyrhing ended peacefully, not with burning all Rivellon to the ground, maybe it's because I was a lizer and all other races were just *****ed up (killed dwarfs, exploded the tree on nameless isle etc.) ??

SPOILERS RELATED TO RED PRINCE'S STORY-LINE QUEST WARNING WARING AAAAHHHHHHHH SPOILERS WARNING

Am I the only one who thinks its awful we can't convince The Red Prince (As a Companion, Not Origin) that the Shadow Prince is right and the Dragons shouldn't be hatched? I am on my first playthrough and I just killed the Red Prince with my main Origin Beast run because I believe The Shadow Prince on this one. If these two have the ability to create Dragons, I believe they were clearly Dragons before and there is a reason that was taken from them. Regardless of the who, ifs, ands buts, or anything honestly I just believe they shouldn't be restored as Dragons. It will destroy the balance somewhere along the lines. Maybe one day they decide, eh we don't like Dwarves anymore or we want their mineral mining operations. Lets kill them. Or perhaps the Humans simply foresee this possibility and try to take a preemptive strike and attack?

I'm going to go recruit a mercenary now. I really hope they can take full use of the mirror like companions so I can basically rebuild my Conjure/Hydro Red Prince.

We didn't side with Alexander nor with the Black ring... does that mean we can't continue the red prince quest?

Is there no way to make him only love your character ? Was rather sad to find out he still sticks with the princess even after you lay with him in bed after act3. I saved beforehand and thinking of going with Ifan or Sebile now instead, as they both trully only love and want you and no one else.

My main character died inside the horror dream where malady, alexandar and vindego are. i completed the quest, returned to reality with my summon baby skill, but the main character is still dead inside the dream. tried using pyramids, but got a "you cant teleport into a closed area". How do i move the main character to reality?

Yep, I have the issue with the War owl conversation. Have one of your party members talk to Malady (to keep her busy) and one other party member attack Red Prince. Then just flee and come back to him, he will be available again.
