Boots in Divinity: Original Sin 2 are protective equipment worn by player characters and NPCs on their feet. Players can find boots as part of quest rewards, purchase them from Merchants and obtain them from defeated Enemies. Players can create boots via Crafting.

You used to be able to combine your boots and nails and make non-slip boots What happened? Playing Definitive Edition.
