then select option 3

3. say you'll do your best and bid her good bye for now.

End the conversation, then talk to Fara again right away, and select option 3.

3. Say you heard that Erma passed some time ago in a voidwoken attack.

Tips & Tricks

  • Ask Jeth about his daughter.  He will tell you she was killed by some voidwokens.  Jeth can be found sitting next to Fara.
  • If you speak to her with an elf party member, additional dialog opens up.r
  • If asked for it, she will provide her daughter's doll.
  • If another character in the party tries to ask for the doll, she will try to give it, but becomes confused when the doll cannot be found.
  • Go back to Fara and tell her daughter has been killed.

If you trade with Jeth he has kid gloves. that and with the fact that he is not worried at all about it leads my group to believe that if she was killed it was by Jeth.

They could had made Lohse host her daughters spirit when she held the doll as another way of completing this quest.

To get this to complete on editions that still have this Quest.

I only played Definitive Edition and I never really thought that this quest was unfinished, seemed pretty clear to me that the kid was dead and the mother was in denial, as told by the man next to her.

TLDR: Kid's dead, the doll has no use.

To likely finish this quest you probably can find erma by holding the doll in your hand and walking everywhere

I really wonder why did they remove this in definitive edition, i was looking for Erma everywhere until i eventually made it here. Either completely scratch any evidence and have Fara not look for her daughter anymore else ppl will keep looking for that quest.

I killed everyone in Fort Joy except this suffering delusional mother so now she is also the only person in the entire place

so i found a girl in knile's underground area, her name wasn't Erma though but she looked exactly as described and said she was playing on the beach when she was taken and she was not strong enough to open the grate. I helped her and she just ran out and disappeared. I couldn't show her the doll but it just seemed as if she was Erma. But guessing they just ditched as that quest as it doesn't appear in my journal.

My crew was having a hard time overcoming that level 4 hump, so we slaughtered some of the fort joy riffraff, solving some such unsolvable problems for them in the process. Such wonderful flexibility is the brilliance of divinity.

Update for anyone who recently got this game and is wondering: This was an unfinished quest prior to definitive addition where you could talk to Jeth next to Fara and then turn back around to Fara and tell her Erma was dead and get some EXP. The option to find Erma was going to be added but ultimately was for whatever reasons. When Definitive Edition released, they went ahead an removed any trace of it so there isn't anything to really do here. If you're wondering, yes Erma was actually dead and Jeth was telling the truth (that was how it was going to be implemented anyway, you were going to speak to Erma's ghost in their hometown graveyard to continue the quest).

Is this quest completely removed or what? I talked to her as Ifan in my latest playthrough and the quest did not even appear in the journal. Talked to her with all party members but still no update in journal.

You can buy dolls/toys from multiple NPC's in fort joy....just because the kid is holding one doesn't mean they removed a quest, I believe he is simply a kid with a toy. As far as the quest goes they left many things open for you to figure out, such as no way to get buddy(the dog) back with his companion. The beauty of Divinity.

This quest doesn't seem to exist in the Definitive edition either. I got the doll from her but thats it. Guess they just decided to get rid of this quest.

The kid that takes you from fort joy underground with a boat to marshes has a similar doll for sale... might be a clue?

She gave you a doll in this quest... did anyone notice a similar doll can be bought from the kid under fort joy that can take you to marshes with a boat?

                                  • Is this quest broken? I have visited her as a human, talked to the husband or friend, whatever the hell he is, and told the woman that the child is dead and blahbity blah blah and nothing...

If you are an elf, just pick option: "Say your kind aren't cannibals in the way she thinks" And she'll continue speaking with you and give the quest.

I had a wooden figurine in my inventory that I can't remember where I picked up but that seemed to move the quest forward a little more. Still looking for the daughter though and there aren't any updates in the journal.

I don't know if it's important to the quest, but if you pickpocket Jeth, he has a pair of panties you can steal. Scumbag.

I used the shapeshifter mask to turn my undead lizard into a human. This allowed me to accept the quest from her.
After talking to Jeth and getting the quest from her you'll be able to complete the quest by saying that you heard she died in a Voidwoken attack.

Actually, I think the daughter is "Coral" who is in a camp above the Hidden Cove.

Fara says in her conversation that Erma doesn't like lizards (if you speak to her as a lizard) and has fair hair and dark eyes. Coral has both of these and standing near her she sometimes say, "Mmm... mama." while she cries. Speaking to Coral can lead to her telling you that she misses her mama (and pa) and she doesn't like her Master who is a Lizard.

The npc near Coral is an Elf which is another race that Fara will not talk to you if you are one. Speaking to her as an Elf can lead to her telling you she is waiting for Magister Atusa. One conversation path says she found the child in the camp and that the child is hers now.

I'm still in the process of seeing if anything leads anywhere. Unfortunately most conversation paths lead to not being able to talk to someone again. So it's requiring a lot of reloads!

I've noticed a couple graphics glitches that show the dark haired girl (beginning with W) at Griffs Kitchen walking to the mother when loading a save game after accepting the quest in front of her, but before talking to Jeth.

This makes me think that she is actually her daughter, and kidnapped by Griff, as she also fits the description but as yet I've yet to find dialogue options or interaction with the doll that can open the completion of the quest that way.

Fara won't let you help her if you are an elf. Talk to her with a non-elf character until she gives you a doll, and then talk to the guy with the same character so he tells you their daughter is dead. Now that you know it, convince Fara and the quest will be completed

                                                  • Anonymous

I don't see why they made this quest at all in this state since you can't go back to Fort Joy apparently and in order to be able to do it you would have to visit the village where they lived in and speak with Ermas Ghost. Problem is if you complete the quest Erma will not speak to you or even be tehre in teh first place, and if you don't finish it, the quest auto closes on leaving the area because you can't return. There's another problem with the Imprisoned Elf quest that completes on leaving the area when you are supposed to tell their tribesmen Sahila is in Fort Joy. I was unable to complete the quest. I reported this to Larian, maybe they will fix this because I honestly see no point in this.

Seems like another unfinished quest. Doubt picking up a quest from one person and finishing with the person standing right next to them is the intended design.

                                                      • Anonymous

You can complete this quest as an elf if you have a non-elf party member. You just switch to that character by clicking their portrait, and then have them speak to her.
