-
After saving Gareth, he moves to the Sanctuary of Amadia.
-
Gareth will join the others during Call to Arms, and can then be found at the abandoned camp mustering for the attack.
-
Gareth may also be found on the Lady Vengeance, when sailing for the Reaper's Coast.

In the abandoned house in the Meadows, or in front of abandoned farmhouse around Paradise Down, In Reaper's Coast.
-
Back on the Lady Vengeance, depending on choices made during Burying the Past quest.
Act 3:
-
Gareth will begin the act on the Lady Vengeance, where he will express his intention to scout ahead for the player character.
-
Gareth can later be found at the Temple Of Tir-Cendelius confronting Alexander.

Notes and Tips
-
Gareth can fight alongside you on the Lady Vengeance.
-
Gareth has a chance of being killed during turn based combat in the ruins, or during the fight with Dallis on board of The Lady Vengeance, which would deprive you of an early way to grab Warfare skills.
-
He can die in other encounters further down the line as well.
-
Gareth will not join you on the ship sailing to act 3 if you convince him to get revenge, but you will meet him there under a different circumstance. Otherwise, he joins you on the ship.

If you find the secret service tunnel to get into the Academy first without visiting the Elven temple the game automatically assumes Gareth died to Alexander and will simply kill him off.

Who made this guys build? LIke honestly which employee of larian did it and what did they smoke? The guy has crippling blow, searing daggers and ice shard. Best combo ever, and to top it off he uses a 2handed
I had an encounter with Alexander in act 3 where gareth had an impossible persuasion check and every other dialogue option would either lead to you fighting Alexander or Gareth. Not sure what I did to trigger this and I haven't seen any other explanation for it.

I sided with Gareth when he confronted Alexander. He then became a silent monk of Lucian in the final battle...

Act 4, Gareth is missing. We helped him kill Alexander in Act 3

If you summon the Incarnate Champion near Gareth, he gets a speech bubble that says "Um. What is that thing?" I was amused.
In act 3, if you meet Alexandar in the Academy first (by going right, all the way around to the secret entrance), and then go back to the temples, when you get to Tir Cendelius's temple, Gareth is dead; you can talk to his spirit and he says something that doesn't make much sense, probably related to the confrontation you missed. Just something to keep in mind, if you want to have him along in act 4, don't enter the Academy through the hidden entrance before you meet up with him at the temple.

my gareth died after forcing through fire on lady vengeance (dallis hijack)

If you help Gareth kill Alexander, he becomes 'free' and decides to blow you off. He "disavows you and parts ways." That's it for Gareth then, but I'd rather have him around for later, though he was some small help killing Alexander, though not much. Followed ice with fire spells which negated each other, and had no protection spells so we had to buff/save him. So he could flip us off? Nah, I'm going back to sending him to ship like a good little soldier, since I have high persuasion. Which skill is used is irrelevant if your PER is high enough.

Spoilers for late act 4: In my game, Gareth kinda disappeared at some point during act 3; he was present during the Alexander confrontation, I joined him in the fight and he survived, but afterward I don't know where he went. He was absent for almost all of act 4, until I noticed that during the big fight with Dallis and co., there was a "Purged Gareth" among their ranks. Is there any side quest for him that I missed out on? I don't think I missed anything based on the current wiki page/comments.

Not sure if it's already been posted, but there's a bug in which if you look at him on the Lady Vengeance when you're far away from him, his head and shoulders will be floating off the ground while his body will be a lying mess on the floor.

barbarian dialogue gets you a chest piece reward and he'll ask you to avenge his parents.
Edited the page, adding some few info on his role/encounters after Act 1. Tried not to add so much spoilers since the page have links leading to later quests anyway.

Killing everyone in the Seeker Camp before saving him will net you around 20k Experience (Klaud and Jules gave me 1500 and 1200 Exp respectively, Everyone else gave me 2250 Exp) and cause him to head straight to the Abandoned Camp prior to the final Act 1 fight instead of going to the Seeker Camp
Unsure if this is affected by the woman waiting outside for him as well... Cause I did kill her prior to saving him.

Gareth's parents are buried outside Gareth's Family Farm. got a Hunting Knife with +1 thievery from them. With other equipment = +5 thievery in total. pickpocketed the same NPC 3 times whilst passing the thievery gear around. (i'm playing on easy tho)

Spoilers ahead: The journal said Gareth left paradise downs after I went the mercy route with jonathan then killed the monks, Malady kept telling me that we're missing Gareth when trying to progress to the next act, in act 3 he appears when you go to meet Alexander and you need to pass a strength or memory check to have him stand down, otherwise you need to kill him.

If you progress to Act 2, he will be doing something at Paradise Downs. Do his quest first before you go to the Black Pit. If you go to black pit first and finished the story there, Gareth will go missing after you talk to him again. When you proceed to Act 3, malady's dialogue suggests you get him back on the ship before you go, but I heard people say he appears in Act 3 anyway.

If you pickpocket him, he will keep saying that he's still suspicious about you, even after checking your bag.
This will prompt some persuasion options that, if failed, will get you in a fight against the whole settlement.
So I was wondering what would happen if you ignored the quest to rescue Gareth and just headed down to the port to fight Alexandar. The Seekers still take the ship offscreen before you load into the Lady Vengeance, but Gareth is nowhere to be found. Malady apparently has dialogue where she takes Gareth's place giving you hints about getting the ship moving. I presume this means Gareth is dead. I reloaded since I was afraid this would break some things down the line, but I do wonder what happens to his parents if he's dead.
