Krug the Troll is a NPC in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Krug the Troll information
- Krug the Troll is a troll npc guarding the cave east of the Shrine of Rhalic on the Nameless Isle
- He won't let you pass unless you persuade him that he will get more meat, or you defeat him in combat.
Krug the Troll location
- Krug the Troll first appears on Nameless Isle
Notes and Tips
- To quickly kill him, simply teleport him into the lava to his left for a quick bbq troll, but you will not get experience unless you start combat first.
- Alternatively, you can also heal him to remove his Troll Blood. First Aid does not remove the buff.
- 20,075 XP upon death.

Turn him into a chicken, he will run away leaving the cave unguarded.

I hadn't thought about the lava or a way to remove its regeneration, so I just attacked my own Polymorph to the brink of death (and waited some seconds until the armor is restored), attacked the troll to remove its physical armor, and then cast Forced Exchange on it. That spell works wonders on enemies with great vitality.

i just let him talk to one of my party members, sneaked into the cave with the other 3 and then let the one talking to Krug teleport to them via pyramid.

Everyone talking about teleporting him into the lava . WHY?? Terrain Transmute lava to this fool and one shot him AND you can loot also .

You can also just sneak next to him and walk right into the cave. I didn't get any XP for teleporting into lava anyways

If you don't want to cheese him with lava, just hit him with a healing ritual or restoration as one of your first actions to strip his regeneration.
He is immune to a few statuses, but not stunned, frozen, or chicken.
Should have enough spells to keep him locked every turn as you plink away his HP

Oh man I spent ages getting fane into position, feigning death, casting resist death on fane, getting fane to 1hp with huge potions, swaping vitality with krug and then trying to kill him after using a time warp, except krug moved so i ran out of AP getting into position again, managed to get a few lucky attacks of opportunity with the other characters and just managed to beat the 3k heal on the next set of turns. It was epic...but... i coulda just healed krug? lame...

"To quickly kill him, simply teleport him into the lava to his left for a quick bbq troll."
So good and tasty.

You can teleport him to a ledge nearby with no path to get back. He’s then stuck there and you can walk past him. If you want, you can initiate combat with a ranged attack and then teleport him into the lava. He cannot attack you except with oily boulders. He also casts fortified which makes him unteleportable so you just have to wait him out.

So if you decide to teleport him I highly recommend you first have your teleport caster sneak far away to the ledge of the lava and have one party member attack him in the opposite view so that he doesn't spot the teleport caster sneaking. You will be engaged into combat for the free EXP to kill him then after you teleport him into the lava from sneaking during mid battle. If you don't engage battle and teleport the Troll off to death, you wont get the EXP.

If you have the Vulture armor and have permanent farsight, you can hit him while outside the combat range if you’re playing as a ranger. Unchain the ranger, make sure he/she is far away, and start the fight. Then, switch control to your ranger and use the basic attack at max range. After your attack lands, your ranger automatically “flees” the battle. Rinse and repeat until the troll is dead.

I found that getting my team to all skip a turn and take the beating, I had enough actions points to take Krug out in a single round before he has a chance to heal

I just summoned everything i could and slowly but surely killed him. Helped that my two handed Fane landed a critical that dealt seven hundred damage

Did it with living on the edge + forced exchange and using rested to counter the knockdown.

I try to teleport him into the lava when the fight starts but the troll is an invalid teleport target

Just FYI if you want the XP, you need to start the fight before teleporting the lava, otherwise he just dies as a neutral charakter.
As said before, teleport him into the lava below. He is not aggressive until you start the fight with him so it's easy to position yourself properly. Just teleport his body back up to loot him as well. My troll had nothing on him however, so don't get your hopes up

Even without Terrain Transmutation, this troll can be killed by simply teleporting it to the lava below. It does take some fidling to be able to get your caster into a spot where he can "see" the lava below, but this is still overall an easy fight with the teleport spell.

The easiest way to kill the troll, just use the terrain transmutation spell on lava nearby and kill the troll with it

I'm pretty sure that unlike Grog and Marg, there is no way to remove the troll blood buff, so you just need to do more than a third of his health a turn. I had my scoundrel/polymorph kill him by preparing on one turn to burst on the next. On the first turn i used venomous coating and got into position, then had a different character use clear minded, firebrand, and haste. On the next turn I used Apotheosis > Flesh Sacrifice > Daggers Drawn > Adrenaline > Chameleon Skin > Mortal Blow. That killed him when he was at full health.
No cave for you.
