Mask of the Shapeshifter is an Armor in Divinity Orginal Sin 2.
While wearing this, your visage is perceived to be whatever you want it to be...
Mask of the Shapeshifter Information
- Location: Windego
- The recipe is obtainable from the Eternal Relic around the Aeteran excavation site in the Blackpits Mines in exchange for a source point. You might have to not be Fane, as he should already have the recipe. Feel free to edit what Fane gets from the Relic (if he gets anything at all).
- If Fane is already in the party the interaction with the stone will be "Mask of the shapeshifter..? what a shame"
Mask of the Shapeshifter Requirements
- No special requirements.
- Classified as level 1 helmet.
- See Armor Crafting.
- Also see Face Ripper.
Mask of the Shapeshifter Notes/Tips
- The mask grants the specified race's skill and talents.
- For example with Elf, you can get Flesh Sacrifice, Corpse Eater and Ancestral Knowledge (Note: It can be handy to switch to an Elf momentarily to identify items or consume specific body parts).
- Note: You may temporarily lose some of your current race's bonuses when you switch.

Not sure why, but I already had the recipe before interacting with the eternal relic. Interacting with the relic wasted a source point.

do you lose Ingenious while you're in disguise as another race?

I wanted the +1 bartering on Lohse instead of Saheila. So, I used this mask to turn Lohse into an elf and then ate the swindler's severed head. Now Lohse has a permanent +1 bartering regardless of what skin she's wearing! Really handy - wish I could go back and do some skills like this to be honest.

do you still can use your default race skills? like encourage etc.

Fane Mask of the Shapeshifter: if you ever lost one / all of your races for shifting because you reorganize your learned spells, grenades etc: remove the shapeshifter helmet and put it back on.

I really wish you could change the appearance of the races you turn into. It’s a great opportunity for creative self-expression and hilarious moments.

(since there doesn't seem to be a page specifically for the racial masks, i guess this will have to do)
Is there a way to change the appearance of the disguised form? from what i've discovered so far is that it does Not matter who's face you steal, you still always look like the standar, basic, default face, like the human male disguise, gives you short fluffy-ish hair, big bushy beard with up pointing mustache and for human females they just get the long half-hairstyle.
and imo, they both suck, and you cannot alter them with the mirror, it just *****s up Your character, not the disguise.
How come no one has mentioned. Changing forms to get a different god. Will that work?
