Venomous Aura is a Geomancer Skill in Divinity Orginal Sin 2.
Venomous Aura location
- Combine any Geomancer Skill book and any Scoundrel Skill book. (At least one of them must be Source Skills)
- Also obtained by socketing a source orb into a weapon.
Venomous Aura effects
- Scroll cannot be crafted
- Scales with level and Geomancer
- The damage added by this skill is not dependent on weapon damage. At level 4 it adds about 60% of the base damage of Poison Dart. That percentage increases with levels and at lvl 16 it's closer to 100%.
- Damage type will be converted if using skills or special arrows which have a pre-determined damage type, i.e. piercing damage in Sawtooth Knife
- Also applies to staves, including Staff of Magus, and bows and crossbows
- Is not affected by range bonuses (Far Out Man, Farsight)
Venomous Aura trivia & strategies
- Does work with Elemental Arrows that Rangers can use, but adds more damage of the Arrow type based on your Geomancer ability.
- Works only on main hand weapon if dual wielding.
- Socketing source orb in weapon does not cost AP in combat. So there is no need to learn or memorize this skill.
I dont know why, but this waste of 2 ap and sp doesnt work on undead under Decaying effect, wtf? They get heal.
Do you need a recipe to add a source orb to a weapon to get this power? It won't allow to attach the orb in the empty slot.

If you want to know why this spell is incredibly powerfull go to the venon coating page but the gist of it is this: skills and items that use weapon damage for damage calculation take this added damage into account and convert it (special arrows and sawtooth knife for example) it also can crit without savage sortilege and it adds that damage per strike, effectively doubling it's efficacy on dual wielders. Works on wands, melee and ranged weapons and summons. Yes that should include totems

doubles your summons magical damage, pretty op with firebrand and a summoning/magic focused team
With lvl 10 Geomancer Venom Aura provides 279-294 added poison damage buff. Taking in consideration that a highest damage lvl 20 dagger I could find had 83-87 phys damage and 2H Scythe Falone with a Rune in it had 176-204 phys damage - Venom Aura is a huge damage buff. And it lasts for 4 turns affecting all allies.
