This is another situationally useful skill with mediocre overall value. As someone before stated, the best use for it is with a Sparking Swings/Master of Sparks focus. This makes the physical damage output irrelevant; five sparks for 4ap is useful for the build.
Non-Lonewolf Rogue (Scoundrel/Polymorph/Pyrokinetic for skills, Max Warfare with Executioner)
Assuming 1st initiative or Delayed Initiative from teammates
Pick Sebille > Sneak behind Enemy > Open up with Apotheosis (4AP) > Flesh Sacrifice (5AP) > Sparkstriker (4AP) > Adrenaline (6AP) > Daggers Drawn (2AP) > splits up into 3 options:
if Target killed (4AP due to Executioner) > Backstab to another target (3AP) > Skin Graft (2AP) > Flesh Sacrifice (3AP) > Adrenaline (5AP) > Daggers Drawn (1AP) > spare AP for Chameleon Cloak for escape or Backstab for finisher or Sucker Punch/Chloroform for CC, choose one.
if Target alive and close to dying (2AP) > finish off with Backstab (3AP due to Exec) > Skin Graft (2AP) > Flesh Sacrifice (3AP) > Adrenaline (5AP) > Backstab to another target (4AP) > Daggers Drawn.
if Target alive and still healthy (2AP) > Skin Graft (1AP) > Flesh Sacrifice (2AP) > Adrenaline (4AP) > Daggers Drawn > Executioner hopefully (2AP) for another Backstab, Chloroform, Sucker Punch, Chameleon Cloak, Choose two.
You would not notice but your Sparkstriker may have killed off 1 or 2 enemies by now, 3 if you're lucky. Best to choose Physically weak targets (archers, mages) who are next to Magically weak targets (usually melee warriors).
OP on lone wolf scoundrel with poly. Dual daggers, peace of mind, encourage, apotheosis, bedroll for maximum damage buff beforehand. If its a peaceful NPC - aggro him with basic attack to start battle, so he won't turn around and interrupt the skill mid-sequence, then one-shot him in the back with it. If you've got into battle without buffs, then with adrenaline you can apotheosis+peace of mind (or haste for the next turn), then use this skill and have a spare AP left for chameleon if there are still weaker enemies roaming around. Next turn you'll have mortal blow/fan of knives to clean up and skin graft to reset chameleon, adrenaline and this skill too.
I've lost count of how many supposedly strong high-priority enemies just casually died on me like nobody's business, in the middle of enemy territory.
This skills is great for opening up an enemy with very high physical armor to your CC teammate as combined with adrenaline and backlash you can hit a target up to 7 times before your turn ends.
eat the heart of the shadow prince as an elf to get this free
Hannag sells this and a bunch of other source point consuming skillbooks, at least in the definitive edition.
i rescued gwydian, but did not get this as a quest reward. - any other ways of obtaining it?
Daggers Drawn is quest reward from Hannag after rescueing Gwydian.
I could see using this for a combo like: Adrenaline, Backlash, Daggers Drawn, Sucker Punch. That's Six AP to make Six attacks in total using a free hand rogue, with a possibility of a knockdown at the end, and you should be able to equip an offhand dagger, pawn move, and flurry next turn. Is 2 source worth it? Only if you have access to lots of source already. Depends on what you're doing I suppose.
Think the trick to this skill is using it with one dagger and shield. Then 5 hits is a great deal then you only hit once for 2 ap. 3 attacks for 2 SP may be a good deal.
Can't this skill hit multiple enemies? That would make it worthwhile in some scenarios, wouldn't it? Still, not very impressive for later in the game...
well its 275%
4 AP is 2 attacks or 200%
So that's 75% of an attack for 2 SP
Can't imagine that being worth it.
This skill seems lackluster on paper. At 55% dmg per swing, you're spending 2 source points to do slightly more dmg than if you just auto attacked twice instead.
