Tips

  • Undead characters can be healed by Necromancer Skills like Blood Sucker and Mosquito Swarm.
  • Consider using Recipes to create poison bottles which will act as healing potions.
    • NOTE - By shouldering Zaikk's Talon and an Barrel of Ooze, an Undead can both convert Healing Potions and fill Empty Potion Bottles as per their demand.
  • The Undead race is very versatile and can fill any Class, but consider getting Geomancer Skills or Necromancer Skills for self healing.
  • Undead character are innately immune to Bleeding, Suffocating, Drunk, and Death Fog.
  • Decent levels of Thievery on an Undead can conserve early gold costs and scrounging for picks with their ability to substitute their bony fingers as lockpicks.

Why do your enemies all know to damage you by healing you even though no one knows you’re undead outside of combat???

Undead has surprisingly great synergy with necromancy and consumables in very creative ways especially in my current 2 lone wolves playthrough:

        1. Shackles of Pain has essentially become a nuke button/way to convert previously non damaging healing spells like restoration and first aid into damage sources that only cost 1 ap bc you can cast them on yourself, and teammates can also leverage healing spells

        2. Living on the Edge in combination with Shackles of Pain means you can repeatedly drink massive Health Potions for 1 AP and deal like 1000 dmg per potion; It scales with warfare, so a potion that says it heals for 600 HP can actually do like 1000+ damage (5 star Diner just makes this even stronger)

        3. If you stack Soul Mate with any of the other concepts on an undead enemy, it will double the damage you "deal" with potions ie that 1000 damage from a potion can turn into 2000; I've done over 6k damage in a single turn at level ~13

        4. If you have skin graft you can shackle two separate enemies and nuke two enemies for the price of 1

        5. With enough Necromancy levels the damage you deal through shackle heals can heal you up as if your health never decreased (You will still die without living on the edge with big heals though)

A bit ironic that starting out as undead made me think poison bottles would be more valuable, but it turns out regular ol Healing Potions are valuable bc of the crazy damage potential. The masochist levels are off the charts with this build.

I play undead elf, at first he was summoner/pyro for early damage and battle control (also I was going for Overlord vibes), then briefly went pyro/geo (heals) dominate mind and inner demon + shield during act 2 so I could blaze through damage heavy low cc enemies and finally respecked into full Necromancer with teleports n evasion combo, corpse boomer spell, adrenaline, battle stomp and double handed. Just recently i wiped 6 enemies in one turn thanks to executioner and elemental affinity.

The race is bretty gud and biggest selling point to it is healing from poison and the cool looks.

If your undead uses geomancy for healing purposes, consider have the talent "demon" on your undead as the poison they stand on can lite on fire. (As Fane is prestated as a wizard, he already goes for the geomancy/pyrotechnics needed for this playstyle.) If you reach the 100% mark on fire resistance the undead will heal from both poison and fire making him quite resistant on the battlefield.

undead are good summoners with the play dead skill. you can summon incarnate and update him(it?) then just play dead to avoid enemy fire or do it id you have a feeling you may die before your next turn. they also may be a good support too by aiding others, play dead when enemy focused their fire on you and break the status if you think your companions needs immediate aid. if you are injured(, not on fire and not decaying) you may play dead on a poison puddle to heal yourself while playing dead. undead are also good wizards if you take elemental affinity and stay on a poison puddle so you get the 1 ap reduce without any negative effects. when your geomancy spells are all in cd you may light it up and continue the assault with pyromancy.
