Important NPCs

  • Speak to any of the four NPCs.
  • Either side with Ifan and Elodi; or side with the thugs, Burro and Kana.

  1. Stand beside the elf and tell the thug to back off. (This gives you 900 XP)
  2. Follow Elodi to the Caverns.
  3. Speak with Elodi, she thanks you and gives you a Severed Head and a reward.
    • If an Elf eats the head, they learn the First Aid skill.

[Alternative: Help Burro and Kana]

  1. Tell the elf she should pay up, rules are rules.
    1. If you wish to fight Elodi and Ifan, pick "Tell the elf she should do what she's told, If not, you're happy to make her."
      • This route gives you 300 XP for the quest.
    2. If you wish to not engage in the fight, pick "Step away. This matter is no concern of yours."
      • This route gives you 0 XP for the quest.

Quest starts at (1). If you help Elodi, or if she survives combat, she will walk to (2) and enter the Caverns.

Tips & Tricks

  • There are special dialogue options available if you have a party member with the Barbarian or Outlaw tag.
  • If you attack Burro and Kana after the quest, Ifan will aid you in combat.
  • If Elodi dies, you can loot a Severed Head off her body. If an Elf eats the head, they learn the First Aid skill.
  • The best outcome of this quest is helping Elodi, and then talking to her in the Caverns.
    • In total, you earn 900 XP, a Severed Head (granting First Aid), and a reward.
    • You can spam 1 during all dialogue related to this quest and get the best outcome.
      • You can't spam 1 and get the best outcome if you're playing as Ifan.

  • This quest can sometimes fail to close. This only happens if the player doesn't help Elodi or never talks to her.

*****, this is my first time playing the game. I just walked up to the waypoint and unknowingly went to the beach. I didn't know travelling back would let her die. 8(

I saved Elody and didn't realise it was meant to trigger something. It didn't, was stuck as others mentioned. But then I did a quickload back to just after it and the quest kicked in. Try that if having troubles

Alternatively, if you go into the cave first without talking to Ifan or Elody, she will be dead and Ifan will be standing there still.

We are with the two elves in the cavern but discussion doesn't help, the quests marks are visible on mini map but we are unable to complete the quest too.

This quest was bugged for me and my friend playing too. The quest didn't update after we'd helped Elodi and killed the thugs. After we spoke to her in the cave the quest didn't update either or complete.

This quest won't complete for me in the EA version. Elodi thanked me in the cave for saving her, but the Journal entry doesn't update.
